Powering Scotland's future through renewable energy

Moray West is a new offshore wind project in the Moray Firth, north east Scotland
The project will enter full operational phase in 2025. The wind farm is already providing a secure, reliable source of energy as an important step in climate action.

Helping to supply UK homes with renewable energy

Offshore wind is set to deliver the heavy lifting of the UK’s energy requirements, delivering at least 1/3 of the electricity requirement by 2030. The targets are growing, with the latest UK government setting a target of 60GW of offshore wind capacity installed by 2030 as part of a largely decarbonised electricity grid. Offshore wind is offering great value for consumers as well as decarbonising the economy.

Operational Impact

Following on from the busy period at construction yards and ports to fabricate and install Moray West, the project is entering the long term operations phase.

Enduring benefits to the region and the country are being created from the new base in Buckie, Moray as well as the asset management team in Edinburgh – employing skilled staff in new long term careers and supporting new roles in the supply chain.

Embedded as part of the community, the people that power Moray West are proud to support young talent to be inspired by the varied career options available within Ocean Winds, and also ensuring the seamless transition from other sectors.
