The Port of Nigg, operated by Global Energy Group, has emerged as a crucial player in the advancement of Scotland's offshore wind sector. Its facilities and services are proving instrumental in the ongoing construction of the Moray West wind farm project.
Moray West is utilising the port for several key tasks, including marshalling Offshore Substation Platforms, Transition Pieces, and Wind Turbine Generator components. Additionally, the J-Tube Cages were successfully fabricated on-site.
The successful use of Port of Nigg for Moray West paves the way for future projects, including Ocean Winds' Caledonia Offshore Wind Farm. This collaboration strengthens Scotland's position as a leader in renewable energy development and brings the nation closer to achieving its net zero goals.
